IgniteCS is an after school program that aims to expose high school students to Computer Science in a fun and friendly environment

Beginner Friendly

No prior coding experience? No Problem! We start with the basics and welcome students of all skill levels.

Free

IgniteCS is completely free for student participants. All equipment and instruction is provided free of charge.

Time & Location

IgniteCS instructors host courses at your local high school. Classes are held on Fridays from 3:30-5:30pm.

Zach Kysar

I’m a third year at Cal Poly Pomona and I lead the IgniteCS team. IgniteCS combines two of my passions, Computer Science and teaching. By trade I am a Full-Stack Developer who specializes in mobile and web development.

Hello world! I am currently finishing up my degree at Cal Poly Pomona as a fourth year Computer Science major. I specialize in full stack web development and enjoy creating cool, practical projects with my skills. I'm also a huge fan of ice cream and slow cookers.

Hello all. I'm currently a third year computer science major with a passion for learning! My two main fields of interest are machine learning and data mining. In the past I've competed in the Vex Robotics Competition and I hope to broaden my experiences in the near future.

Dave Luk

I'm a second computer science and mathematics major interested in Artificial Intelligence, in particular computer vision and natural language processing. I want to able to convey knowledge to anyone regardless of what they already know.

I am a professor and Interim Chair of the Computer Science Department at Cal Poly, Pomona. My research interests include distributed computing, algorithm design, graph embedding, and network applications.

I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) since Fall, 2012. My broad research interest is in the field of Security & Forensics.
